I prefer a public contest. more fun in competing. though sometimes, perhaps blind contest so much better. good luck all

I love public contest so I can see what client wants in design, and adjust my logo with client's taste. But I like blind contest too. Nobody can see my idea but client only...

Blind Contest is the best way to get the creativity of the designer , instead of copying designs,

I Requested to Design contest to make all the contests as blind. Thank you.

yes ...??? if you look in terms of design creativity, I strongly agree with the blind contest. If possible, all the contests that exist in DesignContest made into a blind contest. but with one condition, each designer sends free design without any restriction. DesignContest go forward. Good luck all.

I like the open contests. the only problem is that other designers can get inspired by your design. thank you

It's a vicious cycle. People want open contests so they know what the CH likes, but they also want closed contests so other designers don't "get inspired" by their designs lol

I agree that it's a vicious cycle. I can see the positives and negatives in both, but obviously a blind contest has more protection as far as copying.

I prefer blind contest as long as the Contest Holder has a very good brief. Competition for me is second, participation is first.

same i would say..
Blind is good only if CH is sure what he wants.
For one he says work on this and to other he says work on that .. and when contest closes and you come to know that the theme which he asked you to work on was totally different from one he finally selected, its frustrating...

I used to think I preferred an public... Mostly due to the face that sometimes seeing responses to other designs helps answer questions the brief doesn't bring up. However, since a recent contest when I had the top design and all of a sudden most designs immediately started to look eerily similar- I've decided I much prefer a blind contest and just deal we sorting out he brief after posting some questions.

I think both contests have pros and cons. Blind contests force the designer to come up with their concepts with out any help. However, the open contests lets you see what was elimated and tells you what the CH doesn't like.

Open or Blind contest is fine with me... There are a lot of contest to choose from, so I check 1 at a time if there's no idea came up to my
mind I go to the next one after a fresh Idea came in which I believe a winning logo. so I join the contest....Cheers!
