I am 100% against-clipart and think we should create a movement or maybe the DC to make a contest of a tshirt "movement against-clipart"
so... NO CLIPART or changed clipart how are some out there

When it comes to clip art, it is only useful for me as an inspiration...I can only comprehend every element of my designs especially logos being my own creation completely!

I agree solvingdesign8, clip art can be great inspiration sometimes. But I don't see the point in taking somebody's stuff and making it your own when you can do it yourself in the amount of time it would take you to change it. I just saw a contest I was in for a tattoo logo on this site and SO MANY people used clip art for the crown it was ridiculous. Half of the designs I had seen elsewhere. In fact, the WINING design had a clip art crown that I have seen many times before. Irritating because mine was original.

I use clipart for inspiration only. Sometimes they reveal the simplest way to interpret an idea.

I'd much rather trace an image of a real bird and scan it in, rather than steal clip art from someone else.

If you don't actually own the image you're tracing then you cannot do that, either.

I also avoid clipart, like most of the participants in this discussion. Sometimes i take a look on some clipart solution- just because of solution
concept, but even in that case i give my own "tone" to work... and always trying to be original and as much as possible different from cliche.

No Clip art ever. You are a lazy worthless designer if you can't make something better yourself. Font is a different animal. It doesn't matter much cause most clip art is horrible and most people would be able to tell it from a mile away. Clip art is for silly newsletters that can't see the sense in highering a graphic designer. If there as such things as sins one of the worst ones that any self respecting graphic designer could commit is the use of clip art for more than a church bulletin.

Clipart is a good for something different, not for logos always! Clipart is not a logos, and logos mustn´t be a clipart. Today we have all! Clipart is good mybe for a silhouette, but not for all, cartoon too, for logos is a not good idea, but for a silhouette in a colour yes.
